For anyone even half as excited as I am, this is going to be a freak-out-able post.

Sufjan released the All Delighted People EP yesterday! Here are the two best things about this statement:

This time the featured album is The Suburbs- the highly anticipated third studio album from Canadian Indie rock demigods Arcade Fire.

Once again NPR has posted a wonderful album for your previewing pleasure. This time it’s a band that I’d personally never heard of, but am I ever glad that I’m acquainted with them now.

The band is called Lost In The Trees, and the album is called All Alone in an Empty House. The LP is a beautiful blend of pastoral folk and classical music with a major emphasis on orchestration, and you absolutely HAVE to listen to it.

For all music lovers, this means it’s a day of celebration, jubilation, and discovery. I’m sure some people will be a little disappointed I’m not talking about Best Coast‘s hazy summer-pop release today (sorry guys- really not much of a fan…), but don’t fear; there are still two notable releases that should tickle your respective fancies.

First, Brooklyn-based Miniature Tigers released Fortress today via Modern Art Records.

The album is a feel-good selection of tracks that’s perfect for this time of year, and it was co-produced by Chris Chu of The Morning Benders. If that co-production excites you, you’ll be interested to know that the single “Goldskull” was also produced by none other than Neon Indian (you can definitely hear the Chillwave influence in that track).

Next, Jaill released That’s How We Burn today via Sub Pop.

Somewhat close to the same stylistic spectrum as the aforementioned group, Milwaukee-based Jaill create pop-driven rock, but their Midwestern breed of garage rock delivers a much heavier dose of grit and drive.

Sadly I can’t find this album streaming anywhere, so you’ll have to settle for some samples at their Myspace.

Ra Ra Riot is known for their supercharged pop, heavy with rich strings, driving beats and soaring melodies.

Their new single “Boy” has the same tendencies, but it sounds a bit more mature than their debut tracks from The Rhumb Line (2008); you can hear their growth and development.

Yep, that’s one hell of a bassline.

Now Sebastian Krueger’s project has released an awesome video for one of my favorite tracks, “In Which I, Robert.” (You’ve gotta love the funky prepared piano bass line.)

The video delves into different dimensions inside a box inside Krueger- very cool. Sadly I can’t embed the video yet due to copyright restrictions, so you’ll have to head to Stereogum to watch it.

It’s worth it.

Now that that’s settled, go ahead and take some time to listen to the forthcoming album Mines by the longstanding Portland-based group Menomena via NPR’s Exclusive First Listen. You can do that here. The album’s due June 27.

Next, Department of Eagles released their anthology of previously unreleased tracks on an album appropriately titled Archive 2003-2006 yesterday. I recommend you take time to listen to that as well. For a sample, watch a homemade video for their single “While We’re Young” via The Connection over on the right side of this page.

The Love Language released their deliciously 60′s sunshiney pop-tinged album Libraries last week. It’s very good. Listen to the full album here.

Finally, as I mentioned earlier, my band People,People has been very busy lately. One of the many endeavours in which we’re currently involved is the making our first music video for our single “Five Year Drought.” Excitingly enough, you can watch a teaser promo for the video, also via The Connection over on the right side of this page.

Listen to it- it’s superb. This guy is carving out his niche, and that niche already sounds familiar, comfortable and inviting.

The album is due July 6 via Anticon.

If you’re like me, you’ll trust the Projectors’ frontman David Longstreth’s and Bjork’s abilities and want to buy this without a second thought.
